Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) is a Green Building Rating™ system that provides a set of standards for environmentally sustainable construction.
Buildings that have obtained LEED Silver, Gold or Platinum status go beyond efficient HVAC systems and include such things as reducing and maximizing solar gain in the appropriate seasons, the use of low VOC paints and glues, the use products that are manufactured with low environmental impact, and reducing water usage through reclamation and low flow fixtures.
